hello milkyrose :)
my tip would be to not compare your work to others. i made that mistake and got myself quite depressed thinking that my work would never be good enough. i still think like that now but i have to snap out of it. Take pictures of ideas and things that you love and that you would want to see in a photograph. sit down and brainstorm ideas for shoots and give yourself a few weeks to plan it all. I write down the initial idea at the top of the page and then add notes on location, how i want to acheive the shot, props needed, people in the shoot for example. i give myself plently of time to plan so i dont feel so rushed and pressured.
in regards to editing, a beautiful picture doesnt need to be heavily edited. learn basics by going onto youtube and watching tutorials on how to acheive certain looks. If you want your picture to be really bright and sunny, type that into the search bar and tutorials will pop up all over the place. Serach google also and read forums and websites. everything i know is from researching myself. nothing is impossible to acheive. If it was, then people wouldnt be getting those effects.
